How Orthodontics Work

With orthodontic treatment, our goal is the same, whether we are treating a child, teenager or adult – to straighten teeth so that they work better and look better.

We accomplish this goal using braces or clear aligners, which apply gentle pressure to the teeth to help move them into their corrected positions over a period of months or years.

You may also opt for Fastbraces - triangle-shaped braces that a single super-elastic, nickel-titanium wire during the treatment process.

Traditional Braces

Traditional braces are made from either metal or ceramic. In recent years, orthodontic treatment has seen advances that have resulted in low-profile, more comfortable braces that can be easier to care for.

How Braces Straighten Teeth

Over a period of time, braces apply continuous pressure to your teeth, gradually shifting them into new, corrected positions.

As pressure is applied, the bone changes shape to help accommodate the teeth's new positions as they move.

Invisalign Clear Aligners

Invisalign clear aligners help to gradually straighten your smile using a series of individually customized, clear plastic aligners that are adjusted slightly over a period of time.

With Invisalign, you get the convenience factor – the aligners are removable, making it easier to hide the fact that you're straightening your teeth.

These clear aligners look like custom whitening trays and can be easier to insert. You will be able to remove them to drink, eat, brush and floss.

Fastbraces

Fastbraces® allow for the gentle movement of the crown and roots of the teeth at the same time. These uniquely shaped, triangular braces use just one super-elastic, nickel-titanium wire during the treatment process. Patients can get results in about one year, and in some instances, just three months.
